About This Spot
Stepping into Egg Roll Express Restaurant in Edmond is like slipping into a well-loved neighborhood spot where the pace is brisk but never rushed. The mood here is comfortably unassuming: clean, unpretentious, and threaded with a certain old-school warmth. This isn’t somewhere to linger over cocktails or fashion-forward menus, but rather a dependable stop for those moments when hunger calls for something honest and familiar. There’s an unmistakable rhythm to how the kitchen operates—everything is made fresh and from scratch, with attention given to balance and texture rather than leanings toward flash.
What stands out most is the food’s grounded simplicity. You can sense the care in the way egg rolls arrive crisp and golden, with a filling that strikes a satisfying balance of fresh vegetables and seasoned meats. The fried rice comes bustling with flavor, neither overwhelmed by slick oils nor shy in portion. Every dish carries hints of home cooking but with the energy of a fast food joint that knows how to keep things consistent and lively. The teriyaki here, not the sticky-sweet usual, is nuanced, complemented by fresh-cut onions that refresh the palate. Soups like the hot and sour feel like warm glances from a familiar friend on a chilly day.
There’s something quietly reassuring about Egg Roll Express. You know you’ll be in and out swiftly, but you’ll also be met with food that feels crafted with quiet expertise—a local gem where the focus is on making each dish a dependable small moment of satisfaction. After trying to order by phone numerous times I just stopped by because I needed some of their eggrolls. Six people were in front of me for to go orders but I was still in and out in 15 minutes. That's pretty speedy these days. I ordered a #28 garlic chicken and pepper steak. When I got it home I was worried because it said 19 but no worries it was indeed pepper steak and very good too. The garlic chicken was good and the eggroll was excellent as always. Don't forget to take your cash with you.

This place only takes cash. Chicken low mein was good. Good amount of chicken noodles ratio! Veg low mein came with lots of veggies. Chicken teriyaki is different than the usual sticky saucy teriyaki we get everywhere else. But tastes good! And the onion that comes with it is amazing. Their chili oil goes with everything. The food is not too oily for Chinese. Their hot n sour soup tastes homely! The taste is consistent every time.

They have the best fried rice ever! I always get the combo fried rice. My mom, who is very picky about quality and taste, absolutely loved her chicken & broccoli. Amazing egg rolls, always served fresh. Portions are great for the price.

No frills hot Chinese food fast and cash only. Clean, simple and consistent. It's a local favorite.

THIS PLACE, is great. It’s fast, it’s fresh, it’s old school 20th century quick service American style. Everything is wok fried or crispy fried. It’s all made from to order. None of their crispy products are frozen. The shrimp was tender and butterflied (clean!). Egg rolls look too perfect to be hand rolled but it’s just evidence of mastery. They are the variety with crunchy cabbage, veg, and black pepper pork, perfection. 2 for $5?? I’m never stopping for a budget lunch at a drive thru or oncue again. I’m in love at first bite. Good value. No frills dining room. Eat in or take away. This is the kind of place that you will find in towns along the I-44/Union Pacific corridor. They had NO problem throwing a big spoonful of chili into my food. I expected it to be paper and plastic 100% but they serve on porcelain w/ cutlery. That’s a huge bonus for this type of cuisine. It’s a dying breed of restaurant. I will be back!

People need to take a chill pill about them not taking credit cards. I have been going their since 2002. Owner owned and operated. If you don't have cash and likes to live on debt that's your call. Yes this business doesn't take credit card and it's their decision, are they loosing business? I don't think so. Food is great as always. I go here once in a while to enjoy some good cooked food. Infact we took our kids here today and it's always a consistent food quality. People now a days are too hungup on quickly reviewing a business because they didn't like just one little thing. Get over it. By the way, we ordered Hunan chicken, chicken fried rice and pepper steak.

Moved here from NYC and this is probably the best Chinese food my family has had. There was 4 of us and we all agreed. We sat down to eat, moved two tables to the booth and ordered with the waiter. The egg rolls came first and once we ate them, we immediately knew the food was gonna be amazing and it was. We all got different dishes and we were all very pleased with our food. The restaurant itself, the look, is not appealing however it is very clean and comfortable. The lights are bright and there's about enough seating for 25 people. The one caveat, they are a cash only business- but don't worry they have an ATM. We went on Sunday, it's Tuesday and my husband and I keep talking about going again!

The food was so good. The atmosphere is lacking of course. Even the walls need to be dusted. No complaints about the food and sweet service though, especially the nice young man.
